For DoorDash proof of income, start with official monthly earnings statements and match them to your payout and bank records. U.S. Dashers working as independent contractors should use records that identify the actual account, period, and payments. Add the requested annual tax documents when relevant, and use DoorDash's separate verification process if the recipient requires it. Ask the landlord, lender, or other requester which documents and income definition it accepts.
Reviewed October 14, 2026 · U.S. Dasher documentation guidance. App screens, available statements, verification services, and tax-year rules can change. Examples are fictional record-reconciliation exercises, not DoorDash-issued statements or an approval guarantee.
A rental application may ask for recent income even though your latest tax form covers last year. A bank deposit may also be smaller than the earnings shown in your records. A useful packet explains the period, document source, and amount being reported so the recipient can review the same facts you are using.
This guide covers the current statement-download route, requests for payment history, third-party verification, annual tax records, and original calculations for comparing gross receipts with cash received.
Which DoorDash records can show your income?
Use a record that answers the recipient's actual question. A current earnings statement, payment history, bank record, and annual tax form have different periods and purposes. You may need more than one to explain the same income stream.
DoorDash's payment-history instructions describe payments for independent contractor work. For this U.S. Dasher context, request the relevant platform records rather than expecting the wage-and-deduction details of an employee payroll statement.
| Record | What it helps show | What to check separately |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly earnings statement | Platform-reported information for a selected month | Account identity, period, and meaning of each total |
| Payout or payment history | Transfers issued through the platform | Transfer dates, fees, adjustments, and destination |
| Bank or payout-account statement | Cash received in that account | Which deposits relate to DoorDash and whether another account received payments |
| Annual tax documents | Payments reported for a particular tax year | Form type, year, corrections, and any additional information supplied |
| Your own reconciliation summary | How the source records connect | Clear authorship, assumptions, and references to the original documents |
| Requested verification report | The information returned through the verification process | Requester, consent, account coverage, and any missing period |
Keep a personal summary clearly labelled as your own work. It can explain the documents without impersonating a DoorDash statement, an employer-issued pay stub, or a verification report. Ask whether the recipient needs current receipts, deposits, business profit, or a specific tax-return figure before filling an application field.
If you also have a separate employee job, keep its pay stubs and tax records in a distinct part of the packet. Our W-9 and W-4 comparison explains the difference between taxpayer-information and employee-withholding processes; selecting a form does not by itself determine worker classification.
How do you download DoorDash earnings statements?
DoorDash's current instructions provide monthly statements through the Dasher app. Follow the official earnings-statement guide and the controls available in your version:
- Open the app's Earnings screen.
- Select the earnings-statement option.
- Choose the year, if the app offers multiple years, and the month you need.
- Use the statement's save control and follow the device prompts.
If there is no year selector, DoorDash says only one year of statements is available in that view. Its guide directs users with download problems or a deactivated account to Support.
After saving, open the file to check that it is readable and covers the intended month. Retain the original download. For your own organization, a filename such as “DoorDash-earnings-2026-09” helps distinguish it from a bank statement or tax form for another period.
If the screen differs from the help page, use the current official guidance or ask Support. Do not assume that an older screenshot, a merchant-portal instruction, or an article about another country describes your U.S. Dasher account.
How can you request proof of DoorDash payment history?
Submit a support case through DoorDash's official payment-history page when you need that record. The instructions ask you to include the email address associated with your Dasher account to help process the request.
A useful request states the period and the information you need. Here is an original fictional example:
Hello DoorDash Support,
I need proof of the payments received through my Dasher account for July 1 through September 30, 2026, for an income-documentation request. Please tell me which official payment-history record is available and how I can obtain it.
Please identify the reporting period and explain whether the total reflects earnings before payout-related fees or the payments transferred. I will provide my account email through the official support process.
Thank you,
Casey
Keep the case reference and response with the records. A personal request can ask for a particular period or clarification, but it does not establish a promised turnaround time, format, or recipient acceptance.
If your account email has changed or you cannot sign in, explain the access problem through Support's process. Confirm what account-identification information is needed rather than sending unrelated tax or banking documents with the initial request.
What if a landlord or lender wants income verification directly?
DoorDash distinguishes a third party's verification request from your request for personal earnings records. Its income-verification page currently directs the third-party requester to Truework.
That page says the route is for third parties with a permissible purpose and tells Dashers not to create a request to verify themselves. It describes notification and a consent/account-connection process after a third party submits the request. Follow the official instructions that apply to the actual request.
Ask the recipient whether it requires this route, which periods it needs, and what to do if information is unavailable. The existence of a verification service does not establish that every account, income item, or application will receive the desired result.
For your own earnings packet, use the downloaded statements or the support route above. Share account information only through the process you have confirmed with the actual requester and the official service. Keep the consent and any report you receive with the corresponding application records.

What does a DoorDash 1099 show, and how do you get it?
An annual information form supports the year it identifies; it does not automatically establish your current monthly income. DoorDash's Dasher tax guide provides a U.S. download route through the app: open Earnings, choose “View payout details,” then “Tax documents,” select the year, and save or share the displayed form.
Keep any corrected form and supplementary tax information, including separate tip information DoorDash supplies. Its guide states that its earnings subtotal uses deposit dates rather than the dates the dashes were completed. Check the relevant record's own period and definition when reconciling a calendar year.
Use the right tax-year reporting threshold
As reviewed October 14, 2026, DoorDash's tax-help page still describes a $600 threshold. The IRS's current information-return guidance states a general 1099-NEC reporting threshold of $2,000 for payments made in 2026, with special reporting situations, including backup withholding regardless of the payment amount.
Do not apply an older $600 statement as the general 2026 federal rule. Confirm the tax year and actual payer's reporting; a payer may provide a form even when the general mandatory threshold is not reached. The form-reporting threshold is separate from documenting or reporting the income itself.
The IRS Gig Economy Tax Center says gig income must be reported even when no information form is received, including cash and side-work income. Our guide to income without a 1099 explains how source records support reporting when a form is missing.
Keep tip records without changing the earnings history
The IRS's March 2026 explanation for 2025 returns describes a deduction for certain qualified tips, subject to eligibility and limits. That tax calculation is separate from establishing what you earned or received. Do not delete tips from an income packet simply because a potential deduction exists.
If you need an earlier year's form or a correction, use the actual payer's process. Our 1099 retrieval guide explains issuer copies and available tax-record alternatives. Check whether the recipient needs the complete return or a specified business-income schedule as well as the information form.
Why can earnings, payouts, and business profit differ?
They describe different amounts. DoorDash's U.S. pay-model page describes base pay, promotions, and tips. The amount recorded as earnings does not, by itself, identify the cash posted to a particular bank account or your business income after expenses.
DoorDash's payment-timing guide explains weekly payments for the previous Monday–Sunday period and other payment options. Work dates, transfer dates, and bank posting dates can fall in different periods. Follow the actual transaction records rather than assuming every deposit belongs to the week or month displayed next to a delivery.
- Gross receipts or earnings: identify the record's definition and included items.
- Payout-related deductions: identify actual documented fees or adjustments rather than estimating them from a shortfall.
- Cash received: match each transfer to the account that received it.
- Business expenses and profit: review separate expense records and the applicable calculation requested.
The IRS recordkeeping page explains using records that clearly show income and expenses and retaining supporting documents. A bank deposit after a payout fee does not account for every business expense, such as relevant vehicle costs. This guide does not calculate a tax deduction or a lender's qualifying income.
If funds arrive in a payout account and are then moved to another bank, the second movement is a transfer of the same money. Counting both entries as new earnings would duplicate the receipt. Retain the record linking the accounts when that explains the payment trail.
Example: reconcile one month's earnings and deposits
Fictional July 2026 example: Casey's source records establish $1,200.00 of base payments, $700.00 of tips, and $200.00 of promotions or incentives. Assume all $2,100.00 of these receipts belong to the illustrated July period and are paid during it. There are no opening or closing unpaid amounts, cash tips outside the platform, other receipts, refunds, or additional adjustments.
Assume the actual payment records show $5.00 of payout-related fees withheld before transfer and three corresponding bank receipts of $600.00, $800.00, and $695.00. The $5.00 is a fictional aggregate in this exercise, not an advertised DoorDash fee or a claim that every payout method charges it.
| Record item | Amount | Role in the reconciliation |
|---|---|---|
| Base payments | $1,200.00 | Included receipts |
| Tips | $700.00 | Included receipts |
| Promotions or incentives | $200.00 | Included receipts |
| Total gross receipts | $2,100.00 | $1,200.00 + $700.00 + $200.00 |
| Documented payout-related fees | $5.00 | Subtracted once to reconcile cash received |
| Bank receipts matched | $2,095.00 | $600.00 + $800.00 + $695.00 |
The two checks are:
- $1,200.00 + $700.00 + $200.00 − $5.00 = $2,095.00.
- $600.00 + $800.00 + $695.00 = $2,095.00.
For this exercise, $2,100.00 is gross receipts and $2,095.00 is the matched cash received after the stated fee. Neither number is a completed business-profit or tax calculation. If the recipient asks for profit, Casey needs the appropriate expense records and calculation as well.

Example: how do you calculate a monthly average from complete records?
Use complete comparable periods and label which amount you are averaging. Extend Casey's fictional illustration to three full months. Assume each month's receipts and corresponding cash are fully matched within that month, with no timing carryovers or other adjustments.
| Period | Gross receipts | Payout-related fees | Cash received |
|---|---|---|---|
| July 2026 | $2,100.00 | $5.00 | $2,095.00 |
| August 2026 | $2,400.00 | $8.00 | $2,392.00 |
| September 2026 | $1,800.00 | $6.00 | $1,794.00 |
| Three-month totals | $6,300.00 | $19.00 | $6,281.00 |
| Monthly averages | $2,100.00 | $6.33 | $2,093.67 |
Average monthly gross receipts are $6,300.00 ÷ 3 = $2,100.00. Average cash received is $6,281.00 ÷ 3 = $2,093.67, rounded to cents. The fee average is also rounded. Preserve the exact totals when checking the relationship between rounded averages.
The average describes this three-month history; it does not promise future earnings or establish a recipient's qualifying-income formula. Do not choose only the best month or label a partial month as a complete one. If the requester requires a different history length or calculation, use that specified basis.
How should you prepare the income packet and resolve gaps?
Confirm the requirements, preserve the originals, and explain the reconciliation plainly. A useful preparation sequence is:
- Ask what is required. Confirm the period, original-file format, income definition, supporting bank or tax records, and any verification route.
- Collect the source documents. Download the complete available statements and obtain missing payment records through the official process.
- Check identity and dates. Compare the account name, month or year, and transaction dates across the documents.
- Match each receipt once. Identify fees, pending payments, corrections, and transfers between your own accounts.
- Label your explanation. State the basis of each amount and reference the original files. Separate gross receipts, cash received, and any requested profit calculation.
- Submit through the agreed channel. Confirm any permitted redaction before omitting information the recipient needs to review the record.
For a missing statement, ask Support whether the period is available and retain the response. For an incorrect amount, provide the affected period and transaction details and request an explanation or correction. Do not edit a source statement to make it match a preferred figure.
If you are new to dashing, state when you began and which complete periods are available. Ask the recipient what alternatives it accepts instead of implying that a projected month or an offer to earn income proves an established payment history.
Retain a copy of what you submitted and any follow-up questions. An acceptance decision can depend on requirements beyond the documents discussed here; a statement download or a neat calculation is not a guarantee of an apartment or loan approval.
Frequently asked questions about DoorDash proof of income
Can I get a DoorDash pay stub?
For the independent-contractor context covered here, use the platform's monthly earnings statements and payment-history process. Keep those records identifiable as their actual document types rather than presenting a self-prepared summary as employee payroll.
Will a landlord accept DoorDash earnings statements?
Ask the landlord or screening provider which records, period, and income definition it requires. An official statement can support the review, but acceptance and any additional verification depend on the actual request.
Can I request a Truework verification for myself?
DoorDash's current verification instructions say not to create a self-verification request through that route. It is intended for a third party with a permissible purpose. Use the app or Support for personal earnings records.
Does a bank deposit show my gross DoorDash income?
It shows cash posted to that account. Compare it with the platform records, actual payout deductions, dates, and other destinations. Moving the same money between your accounts does not create a second receipt.
What if I do not receive a 1099?
Keep earnings and payment records and review the actual tax-year rules. The IRS requires reporting gig income even without an information form. A missing annual form also does not make the current monthly statement unavailable by definition.
Can I use one strong week as my monthly income?
Label a weekly record as weekly. For an average, use the complete periods requested and explain the method. A strong week, partial month, or projection should not be presented as a verified full-month payment history.
